FAQ on Hypnosis

What is hynosis ?
Hypnosis is a state of inner absorption, concentration,  focused attention , and increased suggestibility. It is a state in between sleep and wakefulness

What is hypnotherapy ?
Hypnotherapy is using the state of hypnosis to assist in alleviating a wide-range of psychological problems, very often including physical symptoms which have been psychologically induced. The therapist will deliver appropriate positive suggestions, these work on the subconscious mind and help steer towards a chosen solution by creating inner motivation to affect a change. The subconscious mind  controls many of the body functions, therefore it is possible to reprogram body systems back towards health

Is hypnosis safe ? 
Yes, it is a safe, natural part of human experience, trance is a part of everyday life, for example engrossed in reading a book or watching a film

What if I think I am too strong-willed to be hypnotised ?
Strength of will plays no part in the process

Can I  be forced into trance ?
No, its a state of mind that needs your co-operation, no one goes against his or her own unique code of behaviour in hypnosis

I am too intelligent to be hypnotised ?
Wrong - the higher the intelligence and imagination the better

Do hypnotised people lose control of themselves ?
Quite the opposite, the client is in control of their trance and will do only that which seems right and helpful

Will I reveal any secrets?
No , its not a truth drug. You choose what to reveal, moreover you can lie in trance

Will I  be unconscious when in hypnosis ?
No loss of consciousness is involved. In some 90% of hypnotic trances you  will be perfectly aware of things around, including sounds, movements and smells

Will I be in the hypnotists power ?
Certainly not - hypnotists cannot force anybody to do anything against their will. You can choose not to comply with any disagreeable suggestions
